Don’t Wait If You See This

Signs You Need an Emergency Electrician Now

These aren’t “schedule it for next week” situations. If you’re seeing any of the following, call immediately.

Burning Smell Near an Outlet or Panel

Stop using it immediately – this is never a “wait until morning” situation.

Sparking Outlets or Switches

Even a small spark is your panel telling you it’s under more load than it can safely handle.

Total Power Loss to Part or All of Your Home

If your neighbors still have power and you don’t, the problem is almost always on your side of the meter.

Warm or Discolored Outlet Covers

Heat where there shouldn’t be heat is one of the quieter warning signs homeowners often miss.

Master Electrician Who Cares

“We treat every panel, every outlet, every wire like it’s protecting our own family.”

— Mike Durbin, Master Electrician & Owner

Our Emergency Response Process

Fast Answers When It Can’t Wait

Burning smells, sparking outlets, and sudden power loss need a real diagnosis fast — not a guess over the phone.

Answer and Dispatch Immediately

A real person picks up and gets an electrician moving, so a genuine hazard isn’t left sitting overnight.

Locate the Danger First

We find exactly what’s causing the smell, spark, or outage before touching anything, so the real hazard gets addressed, not just the visible symptom.

Licensed Electrician on Every Emergency Call

Live hazards get handled by a licensed master electrician, not an apprentice working alone after hours.

Make It Safe Before We Leave

We confirm the danger is fully resolved, not just quieted, before calling the job done.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers Before You Call

We prioritize emergency calls and dispatch as quickly as possible, day or night.

Emergency calls may include an after-hours dispatch fee. We’ll explain any cost before work begins.

Our goal is to resolve the actual issue on the spot when possible. If further repair is needed, we’ll make the situation safe first and explain next steps.

If you can safely identify where the burning smell is coming from, turn off the power to that room at the electrical panel. If you can’t locate the source, shut off the main breaker, leave the home, and call Durbin Electric right away. If there is an active fire, call 911 first.

We have gone months without using our garage doors. The installer said there wasn't adequate... power coming out to the garage. We had a friend recommended someone who immediately quoted 6K to run new lines. When Durbin came Trey and Carson really looked around to figure out what was going on. They found a simple solution with out current connection and were done in less than an hour, for 250 bucks.I cannot tell you how pleased we were with these guys. They were honest and thorough. That's hard to come by these days... they restored our faith in humanity!read more

Durbin Electric did an excellent job running a new, subsurface electric cable from transformer... to house. The old line had been buried under a small creek, which had uncovered the line and resulted in a line break. Mike and Eric (trenching service) came up with a plan that avoided cutting trees around the creek, which made the job simpler. While the job required removing part of the driveway to access the meter connection, Eric did a very nice job removing the old concrete and laying new. Would definitely use Durbin electric for any electrical job in the future. Nice work, nice guys!!read more

Durbin Electric did a great job adding a subpanel to our completely full main panel. They also... installed outdoor outlets for our deck music system, patio TV and two eave outlets for security cameras. (The eave outlets required running wiring all the way from the basement into the attic.) They also added a floor outlet in the living room to eliminate an extension cord running across the floor to our couch. This was done over the finished part of the basement with no drywall work required at all!Very neat installation with minimal disruption in the house. I highly recommend them!read more
